Easy recipe for how to make Jello Jigglers. All you need are 2 ingredients and a fun assortment of cookie cutters. Perfect for kids!
Not that long ago, I taught you how to make Jello, straight from the box. Now we're going to take it up a notch and make one of those fun, colorful snacks invented in my childhood… Jello Jigglers.
What kid doesn't love making these colorful, jiggly snacks in whatever shape they deem best?
Personally, I love a Bigfoot Jiggler, cut with Jaden's Bigfoot cookie cutter. Fun shapes like hearts and stars are especially festive for certain times of the year.
This is a snack you can mix up in the morning, set it in the fridge to chill for a few hours, then take it out for loads of creative fun in the afternoon.

LET'S TALK INGREDIENTS:
Instant Jello: You can use whatever flavor Jello you want. My favorite flavor is orange, so I decided to go with orange and cherry for this recipe. I really wanted blue Jello, but alas, our store was out when I shopped. Either way you go, you have a rainbow of colors and flavors to choose from when picking out Jello.
Remember, all of the ingredients and ingredient amounts you’ll need are in the printable recipe card below.
KITCHEN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT YOU'LL NEED:
Tea Kettle – I love our electric tea kettle; it's so convenient for making Jello and hot chocolate.
Cookie Cutters – I love our Bigfoot cookie cutter. You can make Jello Jigglers with Christmas cookie cutters, Valentine cookie cutters, Easter, the 4th of July, Halloween, and more!
Sheet Pan – I like to lay our Jigglers out on a sheet pan or cookie sheet as we cut them.
HOW TO MAKE JELLO JIGGLERS
Making these squishy, jiggly treats is so much fun. And easy too!
- Add both Jello mixes to a large mixing bowl.
- Pour boiling water into the bowl with the Jello mixes; stir for 3 minutes, 'til the Jello is completely dissolved.
Note: Unlike when you make Jello and have to add cold water, as well… We only add boiling water when making Jigglers. This ensures a very firm set to our Jello.
- Pour the Jello into a greased 9×13-inch pan, and refrigerate for 3 hours or 'til the Jello is firm.
- Cut the gelatin into whatever shapes you want, using your favorite cookie cutters.
FAQ:
Spray your pans with the cooking spray of your choice.
Jello takes 2 to 4 hours to set up in the refrigerator. When it's firm and doesn't stick to your fingers, it's ready to cut.
Yes, you can use silicone molds, but they will need to be sprayed with cooking spray to keep the jello from sticking to the mold.
Store jello in the refrigerator in an airtight container or storage bag.
Jello can be kept in the refrigerator for 7 to 10 days.
Freezing jello is not recommended. Jello loses its texture when frozen and doesn't really harden in the freezer due to the gelatin.
WHAT TO DO WITH LEFTOVER JELLO
You have options when it comes to leftover Jello…
- Did you know you can actually reheat and reset Jello in the fridge and either eat it as is, or use it to make more cutouts? It's true!
- Another option is to cut the leftover jello scraps into cubes, and mix it with your favorite fruit and whipped cream.
